Mary Blair
Color, charm, wonder, delight… I could go on about Mary Blair, the famous illustrator and designer for Walt Disney, who was also an illustrator and set designer for famous projects beyond the Disney dynasty. When I was a kid, I always admired her work in our Disney records, animations, movies, and rides — most notably my favorite ride, “It’s A Small World.”
Ah yes, this is one of those afternoons where I wish I had the magical drawing wrist of Mary Blair. That lady knew her color.

Store Fronts in Ballard
On a recent trip to Seattle, we stopped in Ballard for some shopping. I loved all the type on the windows of these stores, who were perfectly next door to each other.

Julia Calabrese
Yesterday we spent Sunday walking around the Mississippi/Albina area of Portland, and came across this beautiful window installation in the store front of Sunlan (a massive lightbulb shop).
